Advice on Rangefinding Binoculars

I've just sold a laser rangefinder and my Hawke binoculars with the intention of purchasing a nice pair of rangefinding ones.

The ones I'm considering are the Leica Geovid R or HD-R or possibly the Vortex Fury HD 5000.
I'm still undecided between 8x42 and 10x42 but have used both in the past quite happily.
I've seen reviews online saying the Vortex are better and cheaper so has anyone experience of both as they are a few hundred cheaper?
Is there any/much difference in image quality between the older style Geovid R and the newer HD-R?
I think both would suit what I need, which is basic range finding in all types of shooting - rabbits, fox, deer mainly around woodland and fields but with the odd trip to the highlands.

It's hard to try any of them out at the moment but there are some good online offers with free returns.
I don't need the full ballistic calculation as I use various mobile apps so most important is getting quality glass.

Regards,

Chris.

Well if your only option is get one like it keep it or return it and try the other one, if not wait until you can get to the shop and try before you buy some glass is better to your eyes than others as in vortex might be good for you and zeiss better for my eyes personally not something you can buy on other peoples opinions.

The Fury's are excellent. Dispute the big brand lovers will say you would struggle to see any difference in clarity or last light performance and other that are 2 or 3 times the price.

The Vortex warranty is unbeatable. Any damage or fault (barring deliberate damage) is covered for the lifetime of the binoculars, which is effectively forever as they will be fixed if they develop a fault!.

A minor niggle is the small ranging button with gloved hands but glueing slightly more prominent button on top of this solves that.

As above, I have the GPO 10x 50 and I cannot fault them. I was a little wary at first due to the price but the kind gentleman that is the importer sent a set to my local Gun Dealers, who did not stock them, on condition that if I didn't like them I could send them back.
I looked at them in the shop and was not overly impressed but out in the open was very satisfied indeed.

There is a difference with the top end stuff
Every time we go out we compare my Swaros with my pals Vortex

I would always go Swaro - not just because of this fact but because the warranty and service is simply exceptional

What's the maximum range that you can pick non reflective surfaces, like a fox, for example?

Do yourself a favour - before spending a button on LRF binoculars look through a pair of Delta Titanium 9x45 LRF.

They are nothing short of fantastic.
Tested back to back against my friends Geovids we both preferred the Delta glass.

I have reliably pinged a cow at 2000m with the LRF. IMO they are great value for money.

I've just spent a whileooking through alsorts as im in same boat and I'm sorry although a massive price difference the swaro range are in a different league.A lot of money but id say am investment you don't see many for sale secondhand and I'd say there are plenty own them.

I’ve just purchased Delta Titanium 9x45 r/f very good value for money also have Swarovski el not a lot of difference in them except the price!

Don't make my mistake, I have a lazy left eye, couldn't read the numbers on swaros as they are in the left hand barrel, got some Meorange instead, numbers in right hand side, they are superb and cheaper.

Another Delta Titanium fan here, excellent performance and a very sensible price. As said, its best to try if you can, every eye is different.
