New 12 Micron thermal rifle scope made in the UK

Hi All,

For stuff we actually make here, like the T-Ceptor series, service can be done very quickly as we have control over it. The wheels always fall off when stuff has to be sent back to a distributor or manufacturer. That's then out of our hands and massively frustrating for us and the customer, hence our decision to move to UK manufacturing.

I also managed to get some more footage to show the long range capabilities of the scope and true, measured distances.

Enjoy.

Hi All,

Just as an update. We've heard from other users and reviewers over the past few months about how the scope performs against other alternatives available. I've also been able to make my own direct comparisons now and can quite comfortably and confidently say that you won't get a better thermal rifle scope.

We've been working very hard on the project and are now finally at the stage where we are now able to supply from stock, with just 1-2 days lead time for configuration into your choice of either 55-3 or 55-6. 👍

Cheers

What NETD is the sensor in these and also can you offer the 640 sensor with the 6x mag?

Sam

There are no thermal riflescopes with 640 sensors and x6 base mag
To make a scope with that specification would require a very large, very heavy and very, very expensive objective lens with a focal length of around 130mm

I am aware of that hence my asking, as they are made to order I wondered if it is possible.

I think there is a market for them , I hate losing picture quality due to digital zoom when trying to ID things at longer ranges.

Hi Sam,

While it would be mechanically possible to make, the physics of that lens focal length and the 12 micron sensor mean that it would be pointless. You would not see any more detail...just a bigger target. the same image as applying digital zoom to the 55-6 or the 55-3 on it's normal base magnification.

The good news is with the T-Ceptor PRO, as you zoom in the image is re-processed, upscaled and evaluated so there is not a huge loss of detail or everything going 'Space Invaders'. 👍

To put the processing and new lens precision into perspective, compared to our 75mm WT1, the 55mm T-Ceptor PRO should in theory show similar detail and useable range for target ID. However the improvement in detail and subsequent range with the new scope is around 40%!

Hi All,

The 55-6 has been doing sterling service on the .22 Hornet throughout the Summer, Harvest and beyond!

My observations after spending a lot of time behind it are:

The small size, low weight and ergonomics are fantastic. Especially on such a small, short rifle as my HW66. The real headline though is the image quality. It's pretty much 'instant' target ID and background awareness! That leaves plenty more time for ranging using the reticule, having a think about what the wind is doing and planning the shot. It's been more productive because of it, with very few missed opportunities.

I've been out in cold, hot / dry, wet and misty (in all combinations) and there has never been an issue. It just works. Even in the extreme of 5m visibility fog, I could get the job done and still see enough of the background to orientate myself.

The scope has been completely reliable and continues to point exactly where the bullets are going. It's rock solid with no change in POI due to zoom, focus or 'mystery'. Lightning fast too, so shooting from a poor rest isn't an issue.

Have a look at the more recent videos here to see what we've been up to:
