Prince Andrew - Fair tactics or not?

Indeed so though I do find it very unsettling that a tactic is being used which has no relevance to the alleged victim's case. The particular vagaries of US law aside, to me this has no "natural justice" to it rather it suggests a desperate man or legal team which will try anything to get the accused off the hook - if indeed he is on one. I wonder if this tactic will rebound in much the same way as the earlier car crash interview did. IMHO this chosen path does him no service at all.

If it this is true.

He and his legal team, are entitled to explore every avenue in their 'defence'.

I am happy to let the legal process progress to its natural conclusion, without further comment.
This is a man who on camera said if he was asked to go to USA to help with investigation he would . He said he had not been asked

Pretty black and white to me .If he’s had sex with an underage girl hes guilty .If not he’s innocent .
One things for sure ,there will plenty of heel dragging in this case and I feel we will never know the outcome .

I wouldn't say that it is quite as clear cut as all that. There's the matter of different ages of consent in differing jurisdictions' and the issue of America often wishing to extend and apply their laws outside of their own country. A real legal minefield that the lawyers are exploiting to the maximum for their own benefit and the press are lapping it up.

My own personal opinion is that there are no totally innocent parties in this whole sordid affair and that especially includes the ambulance chasing lawyers and the press.
Not to mention gold digging ex groupies who were more than happy to polish their egos by jumping into bed with a real live prince but now the wrinkles have arrived see an opportunity to pad out their bank accounts.

They say it's because she is now an Australian resident. Perhaps the case could be transferred to an Australian Court. The Ozzies would love that. It might even gather a bigger audience than Australia playing England at cricket. :)
And last a few days longer than the usual three or four that the Tests seem to!

One interesting thing that strikes me is in the Ghislaine Maxwell trial the prosecution would not use Guiffre? as a witness. Was this because they knew that a good defence lawyer would be able to tear her to shreds and weaken their case? Just asking!

David.

You're probably quite right there David.

I’m not saying there is no wrongdoing in this case by Andrew but there is nothing worse than these beaming girls loving the attention and getting paid for what is essentially prostitution and then when they get a bit older, lose their looks abs need to be relevant again they do a kiss and tell story and try and make out they weren’t lapping up every bit of the lavish spending and attention.

I just think many of they lose credibility.

Obviously some very disturbing things happened in Epstein world however I think a lot of attention seeking tarts and wannabe’s are cashing in on it for all they can get.

I feel Prince Andrew is likely a target for this.

I think it's difficult to argue against allowing the court process to proceed as normal without much further comment.

As a point of accuracy though, the reuters stories about this particular case are clear that Andrew is "accused" in a civil case of rape and sexual assault having been "'compelled by express or implied threats' by Epstein, Maxwell or Andrew to engage in sexual acts with Andrew" - at the time she was 17 and so he was not committing statutory rape by having sex with her in England.

That said - I don't have a lot of respect for Andrew, it's alleged that he took a number of trips with Epstein including to his place in the US Virgin Islands, and a lot of the other stuff that went on around Epstein was clearly very unpleasant.
