Hi All,
iv just bought a second hand hawke sidewinder 4-16×50 SF : 10x half mil dot IR,
land compared to my vantage the SF seems to be a bit poor as in with the vantage it’s spot on yard wise at most yardage. I noticed one the sidewinder at 100 yards I was more near the 400 yard mark and it doesn’t seem as sharp either,
anyone else have one and have this proble, or might mine be a bit duff,
thanks.

Is it the earlier Sidewinder or the later version? I've found the earlier version to be mediocre at best but the newer version much better (should be - it was approx double the price!!). I've also found the yardage markings on all my Hawke scopes to be a bit, how can I say, erratic. Some are, as near as I can determine, spot on whereas others are quite a bit off. Obviously the magnification needs to be wound up to max to see the effect, but I've long since given up on using the focus markings for target distance. I just set the focus to eliminate parallax and use the my range finder for distance.
