2011 fox numbers

They are everywhere Never seen anything like it and cubs as big as kittens to almost full grown.I have had a gut full of the bloody things.

seen some good size cubs about the other night well out on a small patch of local ground. Couldn't get a good safe shoot off though due to my position.

so went down the bottom of the field over looking a freshly cut field. sure enough a fox was milling about. after abit of cat and mouse shot him at 175 yards with the 17 fireball.
handy little calibre for the flattish ground around this area. the 20 grain vmax at 4000+fps is flat and very expandable.

one of my mates over in Herefordshire said a lot of the grass fields by him are cut now. so looking at a outing in the coming days. if the weather is good.

no but they have sprayed if the rape so i would think in the next 10 days, You ?

good year for most birds and animals on the farm hence a bumper crop of foxs ,food chain and all that ! got a new huntsman young guy mad keen ,he has been round as we are right next to kennels think i may be doing some cubbing this year

ps just been and fed the mutts and yet another vixon coming to my bait ,by the time i got my rifle no sign quick squeak and presto 7.30 pm

I have had 10 this year so far.2 in feb then nothing until we started putting the ducks and geese outside. the earliest i have shot one this year is 12.35am not good for work the next day.
