I was sitting in a high seat waiting for something to happen , mind wandering as it does. Started to think about life's little luxury’s that I now take for granted. Been so many innovations in optics , kit etc but what about the other things that make stalking more comfortable.
This is what I came up with.
Nespresso machine for that decent cup of early morning coffee,
Truck with a decent heater and heated seats and steering wheel.
Change of waterproofs at lunch on a wet day.
Smell of home cooking as you walk in the door.
Probably just getting soft in my dotage.
Would be interested in other peoples thought’s

Nice thick brown felt Hubertus roll up high seat bum mat with a shoulder strap, had it now for 15 years and it still looks new.
A good loden low hip length jacket to feel cosy in on said high seat.

I sat there last night looking at a wonderful view down the Test Valley and just appreciated the privilege of hunting people's farms and estates.

I just had another thought, merino wool Buff, keeps the face warm, and great for cleaning optics if the need arises.

Actually, my wife drives a Volvo. On the fist occasion I drove it, the seat and steering wheel started to heat up (she loves it).

I thought two things had happened.


1) I had become incontinent.

2) A wiring fire had broken out in the steering column.


True story.

Actually, my wife drives a Volvo. On the fist occasion I drove it, the seat and steering wheel started to heat up (she loves it).

First time I was driving a vehicle with vibrating lane departure warning on the steering wheel I thought I had the early onset of Parkinson’s.

Trials on the 110 and series 90 was heaven after the 2ft of play in the series 3 steering wheels.
Driving an air-conditioned Sportage with electric everything is absolutely luxury in comparison.

Ah yes - I told Mrs FB the new car was programmed to stop her constant overtaking……… bruises almost gone now.

Once had Mrs.S62 changing the radio channels by 'speaking' into the dash.

Obviously, I was changing the settings by the controls on the steering column.

Got as far north as Cumbria before she twigged...
