I know this is an hard question, but I am looking at letting my sako 338 go, does anybody have an idea to the value of them ?

dont want to give it away, just want a fair price.

It has the sako bipod and muzzle brake and has done approx 600 rounds

Which model is it?

There are several different differences in spec over the years that will affect value;

Folding stock Gen 1 or Gen 2

Phosphate barrel

Black or Green Stock

Jordanian Government cancelled contract rifle

Bipod Gen 1 or Gen 2

A friend of mine bought one in 300WM green that had “about” 1000 rounds through it without any extras last year for £3500

I know its black with the standard blue barrel, I've owned it since 2012 and currently as a Hako 8-34 scope which I might take off.

.338’s will have a niche market as there are very few UK ranges that you can shoot these. Is it the .338 Lapua or the .338 Lapua Magnum?

So the black/blue model was the introductory model. They retailed around £2300 back in 2012.

There aren’t any that I can find on a quick search currently for sale secondhand in the U.K.

As mentioned .338LM is a niche calibre that only a few ranges allow.

It really depends on how fast you want to need to move it on.

The new Sako TRG’s are very expensive.

I would say quick sale rifle only £1600 with the bipod about £250.

£2300 if you are prepared to wait.

market dictates a current lack of .338’s only 12 on guntrader. Cheapest is £1200 then new rugers for £2400 ish before you get to the likes of AI, Sako and DTA.

Thanks Scotch,

I am in no rush to sell it, would the £1600- £2300 be with the scope left on ?

I do know that many forces will not grant the .338

Hi Rick,
