Zeiss V4 conquest VS Vortex Razor LHT

Anybody have either one of these? Seriously thinking of buying one.

They're both the same price essentially.
Both are made in Japan

Does Zeiss offer the same lifetime no questions asked guarantee as Vortex? This is something that is pushing me towards the Razor as I've had them repair a set of binoculars that I dropped last year. Replacement sent to me within 2 weeks, no need for proof of purchase or anything.

According to Optics trade, the Zeiss has a 10 year Warranty. You just won’t beat the Vortex warranty. I’ve tried the V4 and hated the turrets, very mushy but V6 is way better.
I have not looked through a LHT but did a lot of research on one and they get fantastic reviews on glass clarity and general feel. They are also very light. Earlier in the year they were very hard to get hold off, not sure if that’s changed. In my opinion the Vortex PST gen 2 is very good and I would have one over a V4 but I wasn’t keen on the SFP ret but that a very personal thing.

Cheers Jamesy, I'm in Ireland and there is three Vortex Razor LHTs in the country that I know of. They're running €1300 at the moment. I hate mushy turrets, my Burris is horrible for it. I've heard from the Vortex distributor here that the glass in the LHT is from the same factory that makes other high end optics and is of extremely good quality for the money.

I'm just thrown as you hear most saying buy EU and not American etc. Hard to tell until you have both in your hand I suppose.

I'm on the opposite side to you - I have only shot SFP and I'm wary of taking the plunge into FFP scopes for last light stalking. Razor is SFP and so is the V4 AFAIK.

On the ZEISS 10 year, does that cover accidental damage or just factory caused malfunction?

Save money and get a secondhand Bushnell LRHS, proper FFP reticle, good turrets, built like a tank.

I’m not 100% sure but I don’t think it covers accidental like Vortex does. I do love FFP for target work, wouldn’t use anything else. I can also see the use of it with hunting due to the hash marks always being correct.
Have a look here for info on scopes, the LHT is in his recommended list.
To be honest I was seriously looking at the LHT but as I couldn’t afford it I went with a Meopta ZD. Glass is fantastic. I’m sure you will be very pleased with the LHT mind.

I have a zeiss v4 6-24x50 and I like it.
It's the reticle 65 model with the locking windage turret. I also have a V6 which has better glass but the v4 is fine for my needs . I prefer sfp reticles .

Yeah I get why guys would use it for target work. If that was what I was doing mainly I'd get one. Just a bit wary at how they will hold up at last light on minimum mag as I mainly shoot Sika who are certainly last light animals. I'll have to get to a shop that has both and have a fiddle with them.

Just run a torch and aim for the eyes... :stir:
