Facebook scammers don't know when to give up!

Following the scam that someone tried on me which I mentioned in the thread "Toying with a "Scammer" it seems that they just don't know when to give up. That scam which I played along with came to an end when this so called Alan Jackson wanted me to pay 18,500 USD to join a fictitious "exclusive" fan group before he would talk to me "Face to Face" (As such) via zoom - He got told where to go with his request for 18,500 USD and I haven't heard from him since.
Since then I have had a couple more posing as young ladies and wanting to know more about me and offering to have a relationship with me.
The first called herself Shaw Niccum and sent me a "Friends Request" so I sent back to her saying before I accepted any friends requests (Which I never do unless they are people that I know personally already) I would like to know more about who I would be "befriending"! The reply that came is as follows-
Greeting to you , i hope all are well ? I am happy meeting you here and i will be willing to open my heart to know more about you. I am 33 years old from USA, presently at Afghanistan working as peace keeping American army Officer, Knowing one another does not take years, i sent you message in the first place, because your profile caught my attention and i will like to know more about you and to be good friends with you, i will tell you more about myself when i get your reply."
Shaw's photo showed "her" as being quite attractive and maybe someone I would have looked twice at if i wasn't married so "she" got the reply that I was not interested and then Blocked "her" so her page has now been taken down!
Last week I got another which was very much the same with a friends request from someone calling themselves Susie Roberts (Her FB Page is still showing at the moment) so I replied with the same asking "her" to tell me more about herself before I accepted the request. Here is what she wrote as a reply:
I am loyal, responsible, active, responsible, loving, caring, sharing, kindhearted, warm, accommodating, compassionate, tolerant, laid back type, outgoing, welcoming to people generally,I like to sing,,listening to music, swimming, playing Basketball, watching TV,I love public intimacy and want a good man with a good heart, one with good knowledge about love and who knows how a woman is been treated, age or color difference do not matter to me at all,as long as he loves me,I want a relationship that will last forever and won't fade no matter what...
Her photo from her facebook page (Which has nothing else on it) is below.
I sent a message back saying that I wasn't interested (although I liked the bit about "Public intimacy") and that I didn't have 2 brass pennies to my name anyhow and if she sent any more messages I would block her. That wasn't good enough for her as she messaged me back saying "OK....then accept my request" - She got blocked!
I wonder how long it will be before I get another "young lady" (Who is no doubt some Big Hairy Nigerian Gangster covered in tattoos" offering them selves to me?
Any of you guys get this sort of thing and if so do you bother "playing along" with them?

There are more of them than you Pete....they don't care...also you should have better things to do with your time Pete.
Remember the saying "don't pick the scab off as it won't heal"

It does make me wonder how many gullible and lonely men get taken in by these scammers and end up getting ripped off left right and centre!

Stop toying with it is my recommendation.

Absolutely, think he needs to consider that ‘toying’ with them is educating them and encouraging them. Possibly the next potential victim will have a vulnerability they can exploit, possibly he will keep ‘toying’ until they find a vulnerability in him to exploit. Rather reckless if you ask me.

The number of credulous reactions to a seemingly-very-obvious parody in the Harry’s-book-preview thread may provide some insight.

Years ago we had a great deal of fun with the email scammers. Being deployed in a rather “less than fun” location any entertainment was good entertainment.
Best of all, when you finally got a scammer to be really angry they would usually send an attachment with a virus. Have the protection of a full time military office dedicated to stopping those - the attachments were not a threat.

Usually the dialogue went something like this

Scammer - Hello Mr Xxxx. I am a son/wife/lawyer representing Mr Scamname who has recently died a left a large sum. He named you as a trusted person ……blah

Me: Hello. Yes I knew Mr scamname well, and am sorry to hear of his passing. Can you tell me how he died….

From that point on we would have competition to see how long we could string the scammer out

It amazes me there are so many warnings about being scammed, yet people take no notice and still fall for their tricks, the Banks are the real culprits as they must know where the money goes, and it is them that are forcing instant banking onto us, people should simply be told if you are not sure, then use your chequebook, do not divulge your account details, (even though they are in detail on your cheque), but I doubt scammers will be forthcoming on the address where you should send the cheque to.

I stay off main stream social media for this reason, but even business use of Linked In gets me lots of unwanted attention from prop trying to sell me things or impress me to be in their gang or whatever. I worry for the App-Excited generation…

Sad to say that the Nigerian Christian lady who wanted my help to export her vast fortune has seemingly died.
No …. She moved to the Ukraine and has sadly ended up in hospital, she told me so only yesterday …

Dear Friend,

This is Ms. Aneta Vitaly from Ukraine, I’m presently in a hospital due to the ongoing Russia War in my country (Ukraine), I would like to move out some funds to you and join later with you for business partnership in your country.

I’m proposing to invest the sum of Twenty Five Million United States Dollars ($25,000,000.00),I don’t know if you can be of help to me.

I’m interested in investing in any good profitable yielding business and I would appreciate any viable ideas you could come up with.

Hope to receive your positive response soon.

Thank you,

Ms. Aneta Vitaly.
