22-250 and 77gr TMK

So a while ago I bought some TMK for my dad. I was adamant in my head they were 69gr.


Turns out they are 77gr.

Has anyone got any load data for 22-250 and 77gr TMK. It’s an 8 twist so I’m hoping that they stabilise.

My 8 twist 223 stabilises them, so hopefully it'll be fine in your old mans 22-250

Kind offfer. All the cases are at my dads place. So it’s not on the cards right now. I can’t even remember the barrel length. I bet @Ronin won’t remember the barrel length when he built it many moons ago with the all the builds he has done. I recon 20” because I like short barrels

Just remembered this is the 22-250. He has been using factory ammo

He got it when I got married.

I used to use 22-250 Improved woth 75g which was pretty effective

Think it was doing 2900 with them

What was your barrel life with 22-250AI ? Mine will need a rebarreling.

I’m tempted to just sell these and use 53gr V-max for what he uses it for. He has the 6mmbr for longer distances.

A problem with the American manuals now is REACH-compatibility / availability. Viht loads have been cut back or dropped entirely in recent editions and no Reload Swiss as it's not exported to the US, often leaving Alliant as the sole UK-available make. Alliant powders are unfortunately often ruled out in practice because of heavy price increases and frequent supply shortages. The Nosler page put up by @bbrc earlier contains only two REACH-compatible grades, Alliant Re19 and 22.

Suitable powder availability really is an issue.

I picked up some N140 as it’s on the viht app for the 69gr bullets. Then realised they are 77gr

53gr V-max are available as I’ve picked some up
For my .223


What a pain this recent supply issue really is. Along with REACH removing powders from U.K.

Ronin you did well finding that thread. I missed your reply last night. Those Lawton’s are amazing actions such a shame when Barney died his son ran the business into the ground.
The 6mmbr has to be the sweetest round to shoot bar non.

2900fps and a 105gr A-max is deadly. Incredibly efficient case.

What was your barrel life with 22-250AI ? Mine will need a rebarreling.

I sold it whilst stil accurate and it went on to provide tears tears of use then it was re barrelled to 6xc

Couldn’t accurately say how many was the count

scotch, this is what I used to use in my 22/250 26" tube 8 twist before I went on to settle with 75grn Amax
77 grn TMK
Powder Vit 160
Charge 37.5grns
COL 2645
Lapua brass
Fed 210m primers.
Safe in my rifle
