Spartan team up with Primos Trigger Sticks

£550 by the time it is in the U.K. too rich for me as it’s a hobby.
I'm also a "hobby" shooter. I lashed out and bought a Primos Trigger stick about 4 years ago and its now an indispensable item for me, but at around £550 this is one for the gadget freaks.

Not too dissimilar to the primos trigger sticks and a davros head
It is but I think this tripod is carbon fibre and closer to a Spartan tripod in terms of quality and engineering.

Having handled both an original Primos tripod and a Spartan one they're world's apart in terms of strength and quality. From seeing the launch at Shot Show this collaboration seems to combine the best of both.

I appreciate its not cheap but does seem like a really decent product.

Looks like it’ll be well made and a good tripod. A few observations from my POV.
I use a Spartan Sentinel and although it’s good I feel it’s still not as solid/stable as a good set of quads which I tend to favour. In addition my Sentinel feels heavier than my vipers although I haven’t weighed them side by side.

The other issue I can see with this tripod is potentially the weight - listed at 7lbs? That’ll be like carrying another rifle in the field.

Maybe more one for sitting up where a heavier tripod might be beneficial? Although that arena has some awesome contenders already especially with the HOG saddles/ARCA rails etc which are more versatile than the Spartan setup.

I agree and think this new tripod will appeal to those who may want to walk to a highseat but have the option of quickly deploying a tripod where a kneeling or standing or even sitting shot can come up quickly, maybe a small gap in foliage etc. Or maybe used by a pro to set up for their client then if a follow up shot is needed a quick swap of rifles and height adjustment etc and a second stalker is quickly set up ready.

The Sentinel and Ascent tripods are meant for mountain hunting (not a huge market in the UK but this isn't where they're selling most their products) where you can strap your rifle to your rucksack and dismantle the tripod and use it as trekking poles to get you into the mountains or help you get down with a pack full of meat. When you're up in the mountains you can use it as a spotting scope stand, then a tripod or a bipod and even hang a deer up for a suspended gralloch.

For the average UK stalker it's overkill and will never be used to its full potential.

I have been in the unfortunate position that my trusty wooden quad sticks finally gave it. While i am waiting for a new pair to be made i have been out with two sets of bespoke sticks viper and primos. Both were not fit for purpose. Bulky noisy and down right cumbersome. When any one would use these sticks is beyond me.

I caught wind of this a while ago and saw the release at **** Show last week.

Seems like could be the best of both for people who love the quick attachment of the Spartan tripod and bipods but with the quick adjustment of the Primos Trigger Sticks.

Interesting concept but if stuck with only using spartan gear also an expensive one unless of course one has spartan gear
