Greetings from Tennessee

At some point I’d like to hunt the UK. I have a farm Tennessee where I predominately hunt deer and turkeys and nuisance animals. I have hunted elk and bear in Colorado with a bow, I hunt deer with all legal means in the US (bow, muzzleloader, and modern rifle) and turkeys with bow and shotgun. Looking forward to trading ideas and thoughts on hunting with you.

Oh, I’m a classic caliber guy, so I have a 6.5x54 MS, a 6.5x55 Swede, a 7x57, an 8x56 MS, a 30-05, a 257 Roberts, a 9.3x62, (3) 303 British, a 7mm Remington Ultra Mag, and numerous shotguns. I’m an avid and life long reloaded and I restore old guns on the side…nice to meet you all!

Hello! Welcome from Oxfordshire. Some lovely classic calibres there, more importantly, the mighty .303! Lots of great people on here to get you going in regard to hunting in the UK, there are some key hunts you can do in the UK that you can't do in many other places. Chinese Water Deer and the Macnab for example are often high on the list for most, I would also recommend some good old-fashioned British Wood Pigeon shooting though, it's great fun and very sociable when sharing a hide. Let everyone know what kind of hunting you are looking for and no doubt recommendations will flow.
If you are close to Nashville some of us are going to the CMA's this year so can meet over a beer to talk further. :thumb:

Ironically, I'm about a 45 min drive West of Nashville, so its a plan then.
I do love my 303s. As a matter of fact, my first deer rifle was a No 1 - got that one when I was 13. I couldn't even tell you the number of rounds I have put through that one! I also have a No4 and commercial model. I love them all!

Excellent, It is a plan then. I will drop you a PM.
Yes, I'm a huge fan of the No1, I personally use a No1 MkV which is a joy to shoot and load with 5-round chargers. A very underrated cal that I wish we used more of here, it's ideal for stalking.

Welcome from Scotland - Tennessee is a great part of the world, fond memories from visiting the Great Smoky Mountains.
