Would anyone be interested in an affordable, UK made induction annealing machine?

people have been using tempilaq with flame annealers - can't see why it would not work with this.
Of course it could. But that is not how these crude machines are touted. What are you going to do, put in a few cases tempilaqued up, fidget about with timer settings until you think you have cooked one just right, make a note, rinse repeat. TBH I think that just watching it until it glows dull red is a more honest way, as for manually catching that time within a tenth of a second, dream on. Of course it is not beyond the wit of man to put in an opto-electronic thingummy to see that point happen and switch the drive off. Just a random thought.

@mealiejimmy , fairly uniquely, has a hardness tester so can set his up as near as possible to replicating the original heat treat of specific factory brass. Kudos. But hardly a viable option for anyone else.

who remembers metal work and wood work classes at school? one of the first things you learnt in metal work was how to anneal brass and copper, not rocket science way back then and not now.

Probably exactly what most will do. Is it a problem?

Certainly not AMP clever, but induction does appeal. Even if merely timer based, strikes me as more consistently repeatable compared to gas, and don't have to worry about gas bottle refills.

A far cry from today teachers Knowledge is really , really limited to say the least . We even did foundry work etc . mind you our teachers had also in the main part had come from industry not high school and teacher training college

I’d be interested. I’ve been considering an AMP annealer but from a cost point of view, unless you’re shooting thousands of rounds every year it’s fairly cost effective to have someone like Spud anneal them for you. That said, having an annealer in the reloading set up would be very convenient (and save trips to the post office)!!

That comes to £155 before shipping, vat and duties. There is the one from caselife.co.uk which is also gas - and the one from reloader in Bulgaria.
I run a caselife one and just love it’s simplicity - works for me😀

Good day Martin,
Wholesale price is R3150 per unit for a minimum order of 5 units. Lead time will vary depending on stock levels, this is a small home based part time undertaking.
Shipping is about R6746 via Aramex.

Works out at 245 Euros before adding import duties. I think the caselife will be for me. How do I order one?

Follow the link above😉

I have no connection whatsoever with them - I was fortunate to find a little used one at a very good price and am very happy with the results. I made up some alternative wheels in an idle moment on the lathe and now use the setup for all my .243, .270 and .308 rounds.

As you are in the EU, consider the Reloader annealer too.

The reloader annealer is £180 delivered to UK - not sure about € pricing. Extra discs for different calibre groups are £15. I don't have one - but a mate of mine does. He sells direct - he has a FB page, but also sells via the UKVarminting forum where he has many happy customers since 2016.

Looks good value!

Yeah, i'm thinking I may get one - i'm at the point now where annealing makes a lot of sense for me. Good brass isn't cheap any more. Gotta take good care of it.
Totally agree. I'm still using my original brass bought 7 years ago and the annealer is certainly proving its worth now. Was sceptical at first but its so quick and easy to do as part of the reloading process.
