Dog coat recommendations please.

Been tasked by the Mrs to find something that I don’t really think exists - a decent dog coat for my 32kg fit lab that has multiple functions.

I think I need two coats…

One for standard dog walking on the lead - I work from home, so road walk the dog every morning and evening, come rain or shine. Essentially just looking for something to keep him dry.

Second is more of a travelling coat to keep him warm after a good session out on a cold/wet day for the drive home in the back of my truck (cage in the back of a Ranger).

Personally I don’t like dog coats when active but quite happy to invest in a travel coat for the return journey as some of my drives are over an hour.

Recommendations on tried and tested kit gratefully received.

There is a coat from micro fibre a lot of beaters use. it goes over the head and 2 holes for the front legs so use it lunch times others after the days work. Like a jumper. Chip has one

I use weatherbetta coats for my two HWV and Lakeland terrier not that I think they need protection from the elements but I don't want them soaked through to bring back in the house. I used them today for a walk in the sleet and snow. They are well made like the horse rugs with reflective stripes and lots of adjustment

We mostly have Thermatex coats for our labs and spaniel:

Equafleece are also good though:

Equafleece.

they do a 4 legged jumper which once you have made sure it’s a good fit you return it and they fit a zip down the back which makes it easier to put on and off.ideal for both reasons you mentioned.

Never used such a thing, always towelled working dogs off before going home and plenty of bedding in kennels. Labs don't need coats and neither do spaniels. ( Here it comes)🤣

Another vote for equafleece. Used on my labs, spaniel and terrier if wet and/or very cold after a days work. Keeps them warm and wicks away the dampness.
