Sako s20 Hunter - Actual experiences please

Have 2… .243. & 6.5 CM,purchased one new the other with light use. Both have performed well with no faults in any respect ..

Brill, looked at this at shooting show vs tikka t3x vs brx1.. MUCH preferred the feel of s20

Will be in 6.5 creed (mostly to annoy people i don’t know) 😂

Had one for two and a half years, initially used it for stalking and also a ranger basher and is used as a range basher most of the time now, absolutely nothing wrong with it and I reckon with the range use it’s had a thousand plus rounds through it so far, still shooting accurately.

The stock is plasticky (mine is the hunter) but it is comfortable to shoot - haven’t had any issue with bolt stops and mine hasn’t had much mercy. Some people seemed to want to dislike them.

The mag initially rattled a bit but some sticky back felt sorted that out.

Feeds really well and shoots well. For a working rifle or a range basher it’s not a bad prospect - the chassis system is clever and taken from the TRG apparently. Mine is a 6.5 Creedmoor.

The picatinny mounting blocks milled into the action are limiting if you want to tread away from a traditional rifle scope.
Tubed NV and thermal using rings you are ok, but with most other NV and thermal devices the picatinny blocks are too wide apart to accept the mounting system the scopes come with.
You may find yourself buying the sako rail that mounts on the mounting blocks.

Bought one secondhand with only a couple of dozen rounds through it so almost new and spotless a few weeks ago (first Deer rig ) it’s was a 24” barrel but got Andrew at RifleCraft to lop it down so now it’s 22&1/4” . Had to go down the S20 Optilock mount and rings route to get the scope right for eye relief as the Warne rings sat annoyingly just a tad out for my scope and eye relief .
The reason I bought it was after shouldering a fair few the S20 just came up into my shoulder spot on and felt good and a decent price .
As far as brand, model, quality etc goes well one man’s meat is another’s poison as they say, first visit to a range and i was getting 1/2 MOA with S&B Blue 120’s at 100m’s .
For me I’m very happy with it, as mentioned I had slight sideways play on the 5 round mag but an easy instant fix with some felt tape either side and it’s solid and no feeding issues whether full five rounds in or just three, bolt is very smooth, anyway just my feedback on mine .

Helped my mate zero his S20 thumbhole in 243 off a shooting bench on still day it shot 1 inch group at 200 yds using Sako ammo, he is very pleased with it

And you reckon that’s the first time someone in FLS has f*cked up and they’ve blamed the product? I can tell you it wouldn’t be….🤦🏻🙄

Yeah pulling the bolt through the bolt stop is user error :banghead:

Worse than a Tikka T3x (no wonder they sell for less!)
