Plenty of Remingtons come up for not a lot of money. You could buy an SPS and fit your parts and see how you get on.

You’re probably right - just need to find the right one or get an action barrelled.

The heavy barrel varmint laminated Ruger rifles were great.
I had one in 220 swift and then 204 Ruger . I knew a few others with them as well and every one of them was a tackdriver .

A few years ago now I had a laminated stainless heavy barrel mk2, a really good accurate rifle.

Shot an M77 mk2 in 270win for years and years still shoots gnats cock groups, i like them that much I have a 7x57 Ruger Mk2.

About as popular as a kick in the bollocks, but it’s a gun they can sling in the box with you when you snuff it because the chances of you shooting it out is slim.
