Serious question, are these mounts available from Mauser? Do you know how much they cost?

If you’re struggling to find a mount then contact Brian Fox at Fox Firearms who can get hold of aftermarket picatinny ‘fixed’ versions made by HG Firearms in Denmark. They will attach to the receiver but will not allow a barrel change. They are not a quick detachable mount.

Thanks for the thought. As it happens I already use one but as you mention they have constraints.

As I understand it, they come in two lengths: the short one does allow a barrel-change (once the 'scope is off, of course); but the longer one, which is extended forwards, does not.

I suppose you would have to use QD picatinny rings then to keep the rifle as a true takedown?
Never used QD picatinny rings so don’t know what there return to zero is?

They are fine rings but not giving the certainty of ‘return to zero’ in the same way the Mauser, Merkel & Blaser system ones do.
