was testing some ECX 50 grain last night. the ecx is made for the European market and the regular twist rates like 1-12 rather than the 1-8 or faster ( ie the rifles we have not the ones we will end up getting ) in the 223 rem .
Pretty impressed tbf and a lot cheaper than my favoured TTSX .
Bullets recovered from wet peat at 160 yards all expanded in pretty much the same way as TTSX i have been using a while now in the 6.5 cal of my 260 . Assuming these 80grain are same just heavier and larger and seeing the groups are ok , I think these will do well for you !
I have shot a fair lot of deer Reds, CWD, Muntjac, Roe with the 100 grain TTSX and rate them as my best killing bullet ever and yeah being absolutely honest no agenda and no kickbacks . Barnes have only one problem and thats supply into the uk is low and spar odic , Edgar Bros say this wont be the same with the CX and ECX and the EcX of course is made for the european 22 cf legislation as i have discovered yesterday they shoot just fine in my short barreled 1-12 twist .223
