Chris Packham new boss of the RSPCA

Mmm, interesting. Given his veganism, how is he going to reconcile the RSPCA’s work in farmed animal welfare? He’s also alienated a large chunk of the veterinary world with a very ill judged rant at what was supposed to be the keynote speaker address at the start of a large veterinary congress. I suspect the RSPCA may rue that appointment very quickly.

if you go onto the RSPCA website you can leave a comment. I have just said that I will no longer be donating to them but will be giving my money to a different animal welfare charity due to their appointment of Chris Packham as he has unqualified opinions that he spouts and cannot see or recognise any other sides to any discussion and that he is a poor ambassador for their organisation. If enough people do that, maybe they will listen.

Don’t worry, the role is President, not chief exec. I feel certain that that is a ‘titular’ role as a celebrity figurehead rather than an implementer or policy maker.

Incredible making, perhaps, the most divisive person in animal welfare president of your organisation will not bode well for future fundraising and activities. This is going to be interesting.

Basc and rspca would make a interesting partnership, have been working together on the perceived air gun issues so Chris on board. 🙂

Trouble is he has plenty of supportive acolytes. SABS for example. And everyone who is anti gun.
This ^ and more.

So many members of this site fail to recognise our interests and take on CP are simply not recognised, let alone understood, by the wider Public. All they will see is a passionate, outspoken and demonstrably knowledgeable champion of wildlife and the environment. This cemented by his profile as anchor Presenter of BBC’s “Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter Watch”.

Cue huge number of prosecutions. And following major scandal
I suspect not, they don’t have a pot to pee in apparently. I believe the blue rinse brigade weren’t too happy when they spent £100,000’s on barristers to try a secure a hunting with hounds conviction and it’s the bequeathments from that group that prop up the whole lot.
