Money wasting again.

...@ 71 I`m into porn not science.

Fair enough. And how do you think we have Internet....? Science, yet again...

Of course, you could argue that we don't need the Internet or science, all one needs is a pictorial copy of the Kama Sutra, I mean it worked fine for people for past 2000 years, why change now?

Who needs progress...

Geezus mate, you are on a ****ing crusade arent you ffs. WTF has my OP got to do with your stupid relentless replies. I posted a beautiful photo of a Hind a little while ago I suggest that you get off your keyboard and do the same.
Time waster.

I use the Internet for debate and discussion.

I guess I'll need to find someone else to converse with online.

All the Best.

Are you saying that humankind should not waste money on space exploration?

Or are you saying that space exploration is fine in general, but growing plants on the moon specifically is a daft idea?
We should stick to trying to live on this planet without overrunning and destroying it before we go on to despoil space. We've put enough useless toxic junk up there already.
There is nothing mankind needs that isn't here on Earth. I'd rather resources were used to learn how to use it sustainably and live within our current means.
Consume, exhaust, befoul is not a model to expand beyond our earthly horizons. It's been - and continues to be - a plague on this world and invoking the cause of scientific enquiry to extend such waste and failure is spurious: it's all about exploitation for money and power.

Mate, if you think that actual scientific research is costly, just wait until you hear about how much money is spaffed away on military budgets. 😁

I can't really point to any specific and immediate advantages that space exploration will provide in our life time.

All I can say is that the same arguments currently made against space exploration would have equally been valid for the voyages of any explorer in history, from the first pre-historic men that set sail in their canoe into the unknown that awaited them beyond the horizon, through Marco Polo, Christopher Columbus, Vasco de Gama, Amerigo Vespucci, Ferdinand Magellan, Sir Francis Drake, Sir Walter Raleigh, Captain James Cook (to name a few), and up to Roald Amundsen, Major Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton, and Captain Robert Falcon Scott...

But, again, it's probably a debate about ideology rather than facts. Personally, I am in favour of exploration both on this planet and out of this planet, but I obviously can't provide a concise list of immediate benefits that this will bring us - all I can say is that in the past, humanity benefited from exploration, and that my belief is that the same will continue and happen in the future if we continue exploring.

True, though a lot of it ends up in civilian technology. GPS is a great example, every phone and (almost) every car has it, not to mention boats ships and aeroplanes, but it wouldn't have existed if it wasn't for the Cold War.

I’ll just post this without comment.
I do despair. Must of been an immense amount of hand wringing and teeth gnashing to come up with that Mr Keyboard of 2023....take you long did it petal?
I use the Internet for debate and discussion.
Do you? I have seen nothing of substance ever, not even a shadow.
I guess I'll need to find someone else to converse with online.
Don`t bother, you are not that interesting. After having posted 1000`s of hunting photos, you haven't commented on any so far.....that rings a bell eh...loud too.

Back to what the OP was about.

I cant fathom this one and $3.6 million bucks could be well spent elsewhere for the people imo.

Back to what the OP was about.

You started this thread, and from your other posts on here, you were clearly expecting everyone else to simply join-in and post similar moaning comments about how public funds are being spent pointlessly. Well that didn't go to plan. Apparently, the people who made this decision didn't think it was a waste of money, and it shouldn't be surprising to learn that there are other people on the Internet who think like them, and not like you. Having started this thread, it now has a life of its own, and it's open to posts also from people who hold different opinions to yours.

Ha ha ha did you see the OP,did you read your responses re it?

Anyway mark I did what you did and had a look at your 'messages' that you have posted. Starting from the top I got to about num 5 and read this line of yours. " Yes, but that's scientific research made by academics, and what do they know about the whether?"

I didn't venture any further, there was no need.

Btw shouldn't that be weather?
