Unfortunately Ken I can not offer any good news. Marlene was on a drip most of the night before last (5 all told) as blood tests showed she was very low on magnesium but even after that further blood tests showed she was still low so they are trying to deal with that. As for her being transferred to Stoke On Trent that is now out of the window as Marlene is too ill to travel. The only option at the moment is that she stays in hospital until they can do the triple bi-pass at either Withenshaw or Manchester general but that could be a month or more away and she will have to stay in hospital until then - Which she isn't too delighted about.Any good news to share Pete?
Anything I can do to help, let me know?
Ken.

Sorry Arron, I have only just noticed your post or I would have replied sooner, thank you so very much my friend, and all the very best wishes to both you and your good lady!I wish you both the very best Pete, hopefully be back on track very soon , atvb Arron

I try to rest when I can as well as eating properly! Marlene said yesterday that she fancied some cheese and onion pies to eat as snacks so I have just baked a batch of Cheese and Onion Turnovers so that I can take a few with me when I visit her this afternoon.I just had a stay in hospital ( broken leg) and the care I got was superb.she is in good hands and in the best place.
don't forget to look after your self as well.
all the best phil.

Yes, it fits in so well with the thread "Life. So Precious. So fleeting"! My heart goes out to those who have contributed on that thread who have suffered so much as I can understand how they must be feeling. Someone on there said that they cried when they read some of the posts, well I don't mind openly admitting that I did too. I really do feel for all of them! I do not for one single minute think that there is any shame in a man crying, if nothing else it shows that he has feelings and a sensitive side!scary sh it mate. Hope all goes well.

I actually enjoy baking and find it quite "satisfying" and relaxing, and anyhow if the turnovers cheers Marlene up a little and helps her to eat and put on a bit of energy/strength then the time spent in the kitchen is time well spent!
Thank you all!![]()
Normally I would agree with you! However with the weight that Marlene has lost over the last 17 days if there is anything that I can do to help or please her and cheer her up then I feel that have to do it!Ffs not cheese after a HA mate...... When I was on acardiac ward there was a huge guy in the bed next to, he actually looked dead.. but they had managed to save him JUST. When the consultant came to speak to him and the guy confessed his diet of mainly cheese and booze the consultant went right off on one, consultant was a tiny Indian chap while patient was the size of a small car... told him the cheese was actually killing him. Later on huge guys wife shows up, he told her what the consultant had said about his diet, then proceed to ask hus wife to go to a vending machine and get him a cheese and tomato sandwich, she rightly so refused. Shortly after huge guy got angry, now practically growling at his wife (who now had tears in her eyes) she backed down and went off and got his cheese and tomato sandwich...
It's one of those things I've seen but can't forget, stoopid brain memory card of mine lol
