Brass shavings in FL 7mm Rem Mag sizing die

Are you saying that the shaving of brass is coming off the bulge above the belt, ie its from the 14thou extra diameter fo a fired case? If not, where is it being removed from?
Hi @Donkey Basher It seems that the leading edge of the die that accommodates the belt is shaving the slithers of the rings all the way down the case.
The photo below shows a partial FL re-sizing, but it only happens with the Hornady brass???

Yes, agreed that's exactly what I am doing and the FL die is bumping the shoulder back by two thou OK; however, what concerns me is a) the sheer force required to resize and b) the shavings coming off the brass case (possibly from the bulge). Two things I have never experienced before.

PS: Have I got an oversized chamber or an undersized die?
Possibly both, Does factory loaded ammo bulge in the same way after firing? :tiphat:

Some brass is softer than other makes, and it varies from brand and lot#, assuming your load is within data specs, the simple solution is using stuff that doesn't get shaved.
This is one problem I have never encountered before. But I have no belted cases. What little work I did do with 7 rem mag was with 1-time fired federals. And zero trouble.
My press is the RCBS RockChucker4 and I use RCBS case lube and a pad. No effort really. I have used a very old Lee non compound leverage press and got a decent workout.

Where can I get one of these collet dies from please.

A google search for Larry Willis collet die brought this up. I suspect this is where most people buy from.
