Sold: Tikka M595 .308

Any idea how many rounds from new, factory or homeloads?
I’m the second owner. I have put around 64 rounds through it (probably a few more as ive likely lost a few cases in the field at some point) the fella before gave up shooting due to arthritis and round count was estimated at 250 from new. All factory loads

Looking at the condition of the woodwork, and the metalwork, & given the age of the rifle I'd say that it has seen VERY little work! - neither my 222 or 308 M595s look anything like as pristine as that 👍

There was a guy yesterday(?) looking for a 308 - reckon he'd have to go a long way to better this one!

Thank you. It still amazes me the condition of the blueing. My original idea was to keep it and restock it as it is a beauty to shoot. But can only carry one rifle at a time.

Finally decided to let go of my M595 as can only shoot one .308 at a time. 21.5” barrel threaded in 1/2 UNF. In excellent condition.

£500
@Turnips buy this! .308 is not a barrel burner, it’s a good barrel length for getting speed out of copper (.308 shoots well and suffers less velocity loss than other calibres but speed is the name of the game with copper).

You’ll not go wrong with it.

56 mm lens is most definitely not a must, depending on your age you may not get full use of the light anyway.

Kahles didn’t suit my eyes at all but plenty get on with them so stick one on here and spend the money you save on decent binoculars.

595s are a truly lovely rifle, in fact one of my favourites. The bolt is smooth as can be and feeding from the magazines is slick and the trigger can be tuned to a crisp light pull. In my opinion it is nicer than the T3 as the action length fits the cartridge better. There are many of us who hold on to them for many years (I have had mine since 1998! )

I would happily have another....
If you get an honest good condition one of these rifles offered to you, buy it and don't go looking for something else.
20+ years on and the blueing will be deep as the day it came out the factory.

If it were a choice between one of these, a sako 85 or a tikka T3- buy a a M595!!
