Celebrating 600 days of renewal delays

Mine ran out 27th July was told it was on extension till Sept. Came home from work last week with police waiting outside , came in checked my rifles and handed me my new ticket there and then. So approx 3 weeks over. Seems I've been lucky after hearing some of the stories on here.

Got mine something like 6 weeks before expiry. Some FLDs can work efficiently and don’t need to fall back in automatic extensions.

It should also be remembered that the firearms licensing departments don’t have constant workloads, as with at least one force who shut new applications because they were dealing with a peak in renewals. These peaks and through don’t help in workload planning, you can’t employ someone to get over a peak of work then have them sitting idle for the rest of the year. An answer to this maybe to grant a slightly shorter or longer certificate in order to even out the renewals to the same number each month but obviously that won’t account for a surge in anew applications for either S1 or S2 tickets. I honestly believe that some firearms licensing departments are better funded than others hence why some function better than others. My licensing force have sent me e mails on a Sunday so I think there is genuine effort being made in some Police forces to get things back on track. But you can’t just employ a temp to help with workload as required in a department such as firearms licensing.…..

Just been speaking with my FEO this morning and asked him about renewal timescales because mine's due Dec. He said that the only thing that delays renewals in Lincs are the medical reports.
I've had several variations in the last few years and all have been returned in less than 2 weeks. If Lincs can do it why the hell can't other forces?

Exactly this.

Some people watch and learn, others build up posts by moaning and belittling, over 1000 posts a year, you must be so proud 👏🥲
Go on, I’ll bite, where have I built up 1000 posts a year by moaning?? That would make the majority but give me 20 from my last 100 posts.

As for your positive contribution to the forum, 4 posts in 2020, a couple more June / July then 22 posts yesterday, a lot of which were one liners ‘nice gun’ ‘nice pup’ that sort of nonsense. That is 22 posts in one day (way surpassing my average of around 3 😂) up to the point you then list your .308 for sale.

So yeah, as I say, upping your posts for access to selling your .308. So I was bang on the money!

🤣🤣🤣 oh dear you sad sad little person, I have much better things to do then read your last 100 posts 😂😂 I have stuck to the forum rules and done no harm but that's not good enough for the holy, saintly you, do you scour the forum for people who post things for sale with only 30 posts or am I just a fluke?. I welcomed the new member from Gwynedd today is that OK with you? Or do I need to go back and write an essay?

I mean, you seem to think you know the content of my posts without even reading them just because I called you out.

You haven’t stuck to the rules as a lot of the posts are not meaningful, just nonsense one liners.

As I say, just happened to see a couple of one liners and a new name, usually the MO of someone upping their posts for a sale which is exactly what you were doing and why you are so defensive.

I'm so defensive because it's got nothing to do with you, just a self proclaimed forum police 😁😁, if admin have a problem with it they know where I am.

Okay, back to the thread. I'm about 100 days past my renewal date and I submitted my renewal 120days before it was due. I'm on a temporary licence. My concern is my ammunition is running low, especially fox calibres so my thoughts are to have my landowners contact the firearms department. Has the OP tried this?

I suppose you could only be a target shooter and this path my not apply.

Going by your activity in the sales section I was bang on the money…
@Worthy130
@25 Sharps

I have read this and other threads.

My reading is that this chap is having to give up shooting (hence his rifle sale).

Whilst I have no doubt he needed to 'bump' his posts, he has been a 'member' for over three years - and given his circumstances, perhaps cut him a wee bit of slack.

I don't know about you, but me, I'm ...
