Recently asked on SD if anyone had a Swarovski Z6i but also looking into a ZEISS V6 or maybe a V8 ( if affordability allows)

I’d like a 5-30 x 50 but this does not come in reticle 60.

I’ve seen advertises V6 with reticle 43 but looking on the net I seem to get mixed messages about the illumination.
Some show the whole centre peice illuminated and other either just the very centre like the ret 60.

Does anyone have one of these to give me a picture of the reticle illuminated please.

And PM me if your near Somerset and you have one you’d like to shift.

Thanks

Jamie

The 5-30 V6 does not have an illuminated reticle.

topscots 1 is correct. The 5-30X50 V6 doesn't come with an illuminated reticle.
I have one with the 43 reticle. The reticle is thick enough to be easily seen in low light conditions.

Used a 2.5-20x56 V8 for work (the older, stupid 36mm tube version).

Illumination knob broke (fell off!), needed sending back to Ze Germans.
It ranked as the best scope for 'low light' conditions that @Optics Trade EU did a video on:

Personally would not agree on their conclusions. I found the contrast to be quite lacking, used it on 8x most of the time (especially when night shooting).

Did not like the 'lift up' locking turret.

However, zero retention was good, but the Tier One mounts let it down severely. Hard to find mounts that size, so they have since changed to a 30mm tube.

Personally would not buy one.

Have you considered a Leica PRS 5-30x56? The light transmission is equal to a V8 - I’ve side by side compared them. I have 3 and I’m about to list one which has the equivalent of the 60 illuminated reticle. I’m also just outside Yeovil so you could come and have a look if you wanted to.
