Where are all the Rabbits?

Shot my ground last thurs night , plenty of healthy bunnies very alert .On the lamp plenty of hares nice to see as it shows theres no lurcher boys tinkering about .
North yorks the same plenty healthy thumpers but im sure mixi could drop before xmas .

hang em up on fences sort of? what about rabbits?

Buzzards are the problem. If you have buzzards in numbers, you will not have rabbits. Here in Fife it is heaving with buzzards so very few rabbits about. On a permission in Angus, hardly see a buzzard (don't know why) any amount of rabbits.

I have buzzards in numbers and now dont have rabbits at all. 15 years ago I could shoot 50 in an evening with a rifle, now I shoot maybe 10 a year. They are being conserved by me except in one field close to a railway where the farmer is complaining. I had not really considered Buzzards as mine went fast, is a matter of a few weeks, pretty sure i was wiped out by VHD.

shoot more buzzards and you will see more rabbits
I used to shoot a lot of rabbits in Mull. often as many as 30-40 in a couple of hours.
Buzzards were seen on telegraph poles every now and then.

Now you are lucky to see 5 rabbits in one night
