Aftermarket thermal batteries

Don't take this personal, not aimed at you, because I have the same dig with my mate.... it always makes me laugh. User pays £2000+ for thermal then try's to save £5-10 on a battery, or is not happy that for example a propriety battery is £37-£40 for there £4000-£5800 Merger or Thermion..
I'd just pay the £13.50 on a branded Hik, they are longer than most standard 18650 cells and decent quality...

Yeah I suppose you can't know everyones circumstances though. Perhaps they saved for a long time for their thermal, or their financial position has changed for whatever reason, making getting 8x the batteries for the same price as a single branded one, quite an attracttive prospect....

If you buy a cheap Chinese battery you run the risk of xxxxing up you nice expensive bit of kit.
Buy a decent brand.

I've never cheaped out on batteries as I've seen first hand what happens when a lithium cell "vents" as its known in the industry - fire to you and I!
Nitecore are a good brand to watch out for too. Make sure you check the mAh rating, ensure they have the right contact faces (some are flat, some has a raised contact) and don't believe the rating on cheap Chinese no name brands as they are often grossly inflated.

As has been said, you just spent around £2k on a thermal, don't be plonker and use cheap batteries in it
You don't need to buy HIK branded batteries, but you definitely don't want to buy cheap Chinese ones
These are the rules for buying 18650 batteries - follow them and you won't go wrong
Rule 1: Never buy from E Bay or Amazon - almost all the batteries sold there are fake
Rule 2: Never buy a battery with "fire" in its name (e.g Utrafire) because it may well go on fire
Rule 3: Never buy a battery that claims a capacity of more that 3600mah because that is impossible with current technology.
Rule 4: Only buy branded batteries from reputable manufacturers and reliable sources such as Fogstar, Ecolux shop or many peoples favourite Torchy the battery boy Torchy the Battery Boy
Also, although they will work perfectly well, you don't need batteries rated for 10 amp 20 amp or 30 amps - these are for vaping. Your Falcon will work fine on batteries rated for 5 amps
For your Falcon, I'd suggest batteries with a capacity of around 3400mah and protected rather than unprotected

The Ampsplus HX40 in the link is the same as the Vapcell N40 on the Ampsplus website and it costs £1 less than the HX40 (although it's out of stock)

I use the same battery capacity tester as shown in the graphs and it's pretty accurate so I would not question the numbers

Getting about 3 hours per battery, so two per day. Need additional ones for multi day trips where I don't have access to power for charging.Can I ask what the run-time is if you need spare batteries?

Yeah I put on and off standby between using it. Doesn't seem to affect the run time much though.Interesting thank you. Does the 3 hours include the use of standby?

Thats why we buy proper tyres and dont put retread tyres on our cars.
