Game assurance scheme transfers from BGA to Aim to Sustain

The infrastructure of the assurance scheme built by British Game Assurance (BGA) will be transferred to Aim to Sustain, it was announced today (16 October).

The transfer should be completed later in the Autumn and in the meantime, the scheme remains unchanged and open to new members.

Following completion, Aim to Sustain will take over and lead the next evolution of game assurance. As a partnership of eight different organisations with an interest in game management and shooting and a dedication to high standards and self-regulation, Aim to Sustain is uniquely placed to expand and build on the invaluable work of BGA since it launched in 2018.

Yes thank for that Cornor.

I was actually looking at leaving BASC after many years however, as a member of BASC I requested advice recently from Conor and have to say his support, quick responses times and advice provided to me really was an excellent first class service!! - Therefore, I will continue with BASC going forward.

Many thanks !!

BASC get too much flac.
With might of the blob ranged against them, I think they do a good job at being a credible voice rather than a protest group (which would get nowhere like the countryside alliance).
I don't begrudge my membership of BASC , I do re CA.

I wouldn’t necessarily go quite that far. After all they are the numpties who promoted a voluntary transition away from lead to save the big bag big dollar boys which then was jumped on by all and sundry into the shite storm we now endure.

That is kind of you, glad we were of assistance, and thank you for continuing to support BASC.

You think that the shite storm wasn’t coming anyway ?
The world and society changes, we may not like those changes but they are inevitable. Best to try and navigate through a storm than plough blindly forward and get blown away.

I think I’m getting old & grumpy.
Continue along the plane of acceptance & mollification and we’ll all end up in a dark room shooting virtual targets with virtual guns.
Nope, time to erect finger, politely tell to go away and shout loudly - as I said old & grumpy in need of breakfast so also ‘hangry’ which doesn’t help:finger::tiphat:;)

No doubt the storm was coming anyway.

BASC’s early capitulation and advocacy for a transition away from lead’ makes it hard for them to have any credibility when opposing a ban though.
