It is a bit of a drive , I've done it myself a few times . It's a great drive ....................... as long as you don't stop in Winnipeg and completely avoid Toronto , other than that , you're good .It's roughly the same distance from Alberta to New Brunswick as it is from London to Jerusalem.
Yet I have driven Canada coast to coast more times than I can remember.
Spent the whole of the summer holidays in 1980 in Canada with my mums relative, we landed in Vancouver then drove through the rockies stopping of with my parents old next door neighbours that emigrated to Innsfail before moving to Red Deer to stay with family.Yes, thats my deck. A nice quiet spot behind the house, surrounded by trees. Good for photos for about 6 months of the year. The rest of the time it is covered with ice and snow.
Not sure which 9x57 you are referring to. A model S? That one is no longer for sale. I do have a Model C 9x57 for sale right now.
By the way, I'm from rural central Alberta—Red Deer area.
100%Worlds best rifles, you’re lucky to be able to find them.
I was born in Red Deer. My oldest son and his family still live on the site of my grandfather's ranch just east of Innisfail. My grandfather left Cambridge for the Canadian West.Spent the whole of the summer holidays in 1980 in Canada with my mums relative, we landed in Vancouver then drove through the rockies stopping of with my parents old next door neighbours that emigrated to Innsfail before moving to Red Deer to stay with family.
Weather should have been great at that time of year but that was the year Mount St Helens erupted![]()

If I get my Canadian citizenship through I will do it both ways one by car and one on the train. It's roughly the same distance from Alberta to New Brunswick as it is from London to Jerusalem.

I used to collect M-S sporters (see a few in the photo)...no longer. Sold them all but one, which I gave to my son (in photo with the young Whitetail) . I think that Oberndorf Mauser Sporters are superior to them in every way, including craftsmanship, handling and balance, durability, quality of wood, and accuracy. (With regret to my grandmother from Steyr.)...almost as good as a Mannlicher Schoenauer.
Very nice rifles Robin. I completely agree with you, however I get the feeling your statement may ruffle a few feathers!I used to collect M-S sporters (see a few in the photo)...no longer.
