Portland Series Knives, Next In The Series...

So far in circulation are the P90 and P120, both models working very well with great feedback from all.

Both also get the skeletonised, stripped back, Ultralite version, again, all working fine.

I think that both the above two patterns will be staples in a very crowded stalking knife market for a long while.

I don't think I expect these next two variants to be quite so mainstream (no pun intended ), but they do need to exist, both have a deserved place at the table though and both will be great knives.

The first is the P150, nice and simple, 30mm longer in the blade than the P120, when designing the P90/P120 it was always the plan to sit a longer version alongside, this won't get a UL version, I don't think there is a need for that, the photos show a P150 blank shown against a P120 knife.

Second up, the filleter, this will be offered in both formats, Hunter Orange G10 over black G10 liners and UL, blade length around 135mm, there might be a longer version of this one day too, but we will see, again shown beside that P120.

I'd be keen to hear any thoughts on either/both or what you might like to see added in the future.

That was the short answer @malmick as I was at work and on my phone.

The longer answer is that I see that the future for all the P90s and P120s, handled and UL, is to now and again make a batch of a dozen or so and have them sat there for folk to call from, I'm happy to do that.

I think with these new ones, I will of course make a few of them all up initially, but after that I see them more as HTd blanks in stock rather than finished knives, so folk can order one and a lot of the leg work is already done.

All of these new ones are cut from the same 3mm stock SF100 and I don't really want to go thinner than that, particularly for the UL with their skeletonised handles in mind, 3mm though is too thick for a filleter, so I will grind the blade thinner than the tang/handle when I grind the blade.

Ultimately if someone wants to order a filleter and I have a stock of HTd 3mm stock blanks sat there, the client and I can have a chat and the degree of flexibility for their own blade can be spec'd by them.

It will be easily doable to have that much input into their own finished article.

Wait until you give it a rattle on a strop.
Mine was slicing through Roe rib cages like butter today after 5 minutes stropping.
Portland 90 Ultralight is the perfect Roe knife, so nice to handle and a doddle to keep squeaky clean

Slight change of plan here, I decided to try out a few of the P150 UL after all, thinking being that they might as well exist than not.
