I see over last 2 weeks unleaded in my area has dropped by 15p litre.
This am filled up at local Gulf station at £1.39.9p litre which according to my records equals the July cheapest price.
If you haven't installed it the petrol prices app is indispensable.
Our local Gulf is an independent and has been consistently much cheaper than local Morrisons all year. Often as much as 5p per litre.

Which app are you using? - I just installed the petrolprices.com one & searched locally... it showed 1 local Shell garage & the BP services on the M3 & no others. Also, at the shell garage it was showing premium diesel cheaper than standard diesel so I'm a bit sceptical of its accuracy?! Either it's about as much use as a chocolate tea pot or I've seriously mucked up using it properly!

I use petrol prices.com and find it v good. It does depend on how often users up date prices. It's easy to update prices to ensure accuracy. Often petrol site owners update the daily prices.

Someone needs to tell the London garages - last week lead free was 20p more than I pay in rural NI! Motorway services of course it’s think of a number….

I do feel sometimes these price aps remove competition as it allows retailers to match prices as opposed to price at the margin they need/want. Supermarkets are at the forefront of this - just look how food is retailed. Insurance industry, domestic heating oil other example of rip off merchants who in the main look to match price at most.

That is too true but fortunately the Gulf station near me is independent. Sames is happening at Asda and Morrisons at Cribbs Causeway. Normally identical but at present not competitive. Margins on supermarket fuel have doubled since covid and I as were in a cost of living crisis I can't believe motorists are not being at all savvy.

A quick look on PP.
Cheapest unleaded price in Bristol is Cost co at Avonmouth £1.349.
So that gives you an idea of supermarkets extra margins.
