That was my first thought when I used a friend's Bog tripod, but I had only used Quad sticks and Bipods up until then, both very solid shooting platforms. I didn't take a 200 yard shot on a fox, I let him take it, I just didn't feel comfortable at all. I'm sure you will love it. my chum raves about his.well, its certainly steady, till i get hold of it,
Once you get comfortable with your technique 116 yard shots will be bread and butter. Like anything new it takes practice.well, its certainly steady, till i get hold of it, must be me doing something wrong maybe, got on my first rabbit at 116y with the HMR but it was probably 20 seconds till i felt like i was steady enough to take the shot, prone on a bipod and it would of been 3 seconds, nice to use though, and as people have said about them and the bog death grip being very heavy, i guess they are, if your a GIRL![]()

Thinking about the arca system myself. The saddle on the vanguard can be screwed off and a quick release plate can be fitted. Any recommendations on what arca plate to buy ?I had a pig saddle tripod setup in the past and it was a heavy lump at the end of a lightweight tripod. So switched over to arca with a small plate on the rifle it's quick and easy connection and lighter on the tripod top. Quick release arca ontop is a great connection system.
I chose a Sunwayfoto mlok arca rail myself, not sure on the krg bravo fitting options?? You could try Black Rifles, they manufacture their own rails and are good to go! Pete's a good lad and on here as Major Disorder I believe? Failing that the sunwayfoto rail is available on amazon mateThinking about the arca system myself. My rifles have krg bravo stocks so I can fit arca rails to them.
Done it, everyone who I know uses quads as you can travel lighter, deploy quicker and it's more stable for accurate long range shooting.. I'm shooting 100-200+ rabbits a night, honest I'd wrap a tripod around a tree carrying that about and deploying every shot ...Ehh... just carry the tripod open, with a flick of a hand it's ready for shooting and stays erect on it's own.
Not going to teach you suck any more eggs, but it often seems people are not giving fair comparison to different options.
Tripod is also not very good for static ambush where you expect quarry from any direction. Dancing around the tripod if standing, and worse yet if seated. There are better options like stool and sitting height bipod, or Chairpod if no long carry is involved.
