I’m looking for an Optolyth 30x80 2 spotting scope (2 draw, rubber armoured); the version with the relatively small diameter focus ring on the eyepiece, not the version with the large knurled focusing ring.

A S/H Swarovski 30x75 CTC or possibly a 30x75 CT could be an alternative.

Do you know that Optolyth near Nurnberg were bought out and have been closed down? Service might be an issue.

Thanks, I was aware but it’s a good point & one which should be reflected in the price of the scopes (this doesn’t always happen though).

Basic cleaning can be done by East Coast Binocular Repairs but anything requiring specific spare parts may be an issue.

Hi i have a Swarovski CTC 30 x 75 with stay on case, only been used on two occasions if that is of any interest to you

Do you mean one like this?

I bought mine in late 2021, from another member here on SD, and on receipt sent it off to Tony Kay at OptRep for a clean and service. Since getting it back it hasn't been used or taken out of its case, other than for these photos, and the view through it is very bright and clear.

Tony did mention that the eyepieces on Optolyth telescopes and spotting scopes use a cemented construction, which if they fail means that they cannot be repaired - just something to keep in mind.

Mine doesn't get used simply because I have a Swaro STS spotting scope that I prefer, so if it is of any interest drop me a PM.
