A quick (if 2000 km is ever quick) trip from Whitehorse to Edmonton last week had these "traffic calming devices" deployed on the Alaska Hwy. For referrence it was -37 C outside...

Indeed, we have one outside our bedroom through early summer, luckily Im a bit deaf in one ear so lie on the other, my wife however suffers the most, Ive seen three at once by my back door although the number does seem to be decreasing....... lets hope not
