Anybody able to help with this?

I use the Warne Maxima rings - mainly QDs - and picked up another pair recently second hand.

Unfortunately, they only came with one recoil key and it's a type I've never seen before on Warnes.

Anyone suggest what model they are (just an older version?) or indeed where would be best to in order to get a spare recoil key.

I've emailed Warne USA and weren't massively helpful TBH.

The replacement I need is the style of the ring on the right. The ring on the right is one of my Warne Maxima's for reference.

I'm not familiar with those particular rings, but do you actually need a recoil stop on both? It's quite normal in some makes for only one of the pair to have a recoil stop fitted. They aren't going to recoil independently of one another anyway.

As above, or if it really bothers you, take it to a local machining shop and get them to reproduce, doesn't look particular difficult

Should be easy enough to make one
Kev this is SD not the days when we took the engine out of the car with your mate got a lift down the breakers on Sat morning got it fitted so you could get out that night only to be tipped bollox by the only 2 birds in the pub lol
Yes make one couple of decent files and a hacksaw...

Are you feeling better?

Are you sure they a warne rings as there a quiet a few copies around . I have a few sets or warne qr mounts that are well over 20 yrs old and look like yours on the left .
I have only one recoil stop on my driven boar scope and there’s no adverse effect on accuracy that I can tell even after removing for travel. 🧳

Sold to me as Warnes and have reason to doubt the individual at all.

When comparing them with Warnes straight out the packet, the fit and finish are identical - apart from the recoil key design.

All Warne QDs I’ve bought over the last few years have the recoil key shown on the left and on each ring - so assumed they would be both required to ensure a decent return to zero.

I’ll swap them over with the set on my .222 due to the limited recoil on that rifle, and see how I get on with just the one.

All the quick release makers state that the recoil is all taken up on the front mount with the rear one just acting as a holding in position function, I would feel that just one lug up front would suffice.
