The old sako and tikka actions were designed and made a lot better and not too a cost .most of my rifles are rebarreled sako actions especially the 75.very hard too beat without spending a small fortune
Just bought another 75 in 223 rem . Second hand, sight unseen , chopped a couple of inch off the end , new thread and a hell of a good clean in the bore . very first target shot with factory ammo , shot off a wall top 50-200 yards incrementally - still under the inch at 200 ! ended up just under £550 with transfer + £150 for a few inches off the end and a new threading job at Brock &Norris inc transfers .The old sako and tikka actions were designed and made a lot better and not too a cost .most of my rifles are rebarreled sako actions especially the 75.very hard too beat without spending a small fortune
That is good work. They look fine stocks. The Sako owners club will be putting a blue plaque on your shopWe have just produced a CAD model for the Sako 75 Action 1 inlet for Kroseg to allow them to produce their range of Carbon Fibre stocks in all the Sako 75 inlets
Mainly as have one in 6.5 Grendel and want one for myself!
It will be several months before it is available given the backlog of stocks they have
Will update though!
That is interesting, there have been a few posts about this. When it gets warmer I'm going to try it with a take off factory synthetic stock as a dummy run.I’ve stuck two action 1 75’s into carbon stocks previously insetted for other rifles. It’s a bit fiddly but very doable. The first was an old Tikka (595 I think) McMillan and that was straight forward. The second was a Robertson T3 stock and that was a little mor involved.
Both rifles now shoot sub 1/2”
