He’s got a receipt from Goldsmiths. I doubt they fit “aftermarket” parts…😊
They never carried out the 2020 service
I ask, because the service was itemised separately from the £285 repair( done at an independent.) ?
It was the separate itemisation that made me ask

If the bezel was replaced as part of the service at RSC then it would be genuine obviously.
It’s a genuine question as I’m looking at a few watches just now for myself.

They are a lovely watch and seemingly not a bad investment! must have cost maybe £6K new in 2011, have the pleasure of wearing for 13 years and sell for £2K+ profit! its a funny old world :) Amazing what a company can do when they are run as a charitable foundation that pays no taxes! Rolex & the Swiss youve gotta love them!

Doubt that's going to help a sales add?
Rules and all that

So the present value of £6000 in 2011 is £9164. So he’s actually making a loss ! If he’d invested the £6000 in the FTSE at 6% compound which is realistic , he would have more than doubled his money to over £12000 ! So the price he’s charging is attractive if you’re after this type of watch.
Enough said!

I’m some what confused by some replies so I’ll look to clarify some matters.

Why am I selling the watch? I’ve bought a Sea-dweller. These watches are too similar, I don’t have infinite funds, so the Sub has to go in order to finance the SD.

The watch was purchased from Goldsmiths, I’ve included receipt to show genuine sale / authenticity.

When servicing a Rolex, you can either take it to an independent or Rolex themselves. Within the latter you have two options. Drop it off direct at the RSC St James London, or take it to any authorised Rolex dealer who then posts it to the RSC and you deal with shop, and subsequently invoiced by them.

I had the watch serviced in both in 2015 and 2020. Not because they needed servicing, modern rolex’s movements and lubricants will last over 10 years between services typically. However if you have damaged your watch, you can’t just pay for these parts separately or have fitted separately. You have to service the watch then further invoiced for parts.

The attached Prestons receipt (Rolex dealer in Guildford) shows the cost of the service along with Bezel and Crystal replacement (all genuine Rolex parts).

I can’t find the receipt for the 2015 service, not too fussed about it either because it’s a moot point having been serviced in 2020.

Rolex ads always bring the tyre-kickers and nit-pickers out of the woodwork, its obviously a genuine watch from a genuine seller and personally I think its a very good price, you could buy this watch, wear it for a couple of years, look after it and sell it for probably 5-10% profit, where else can you do this?
