Sold: .223 Tikka T3X Varmint

Hi all,

I’ve got a .223 T3X Varmint for sale as I’ve managed to source a .223 barrel and bolt for my .308 and can’t justify having two .223s!

It’s got a 20” barrel and is a 1:8 twist. It’s in good condition overall, with the main defect being damage to the furthest forward bolt hole on the top of the action. I used a direct mount for my scope and didn’t notice it as an issue whatsoever.

It comes with a standard Varmint stock and .223 magazine.

I’d like £550 including RFD fees please. I’ll not be able to organise the transfer/delivery for a few weeks as I’m working away from home currently.

Photos (please note the photos of the integrated dovetail show a KRG chassis that is not included):

Many thanks,

I have a Tikka M595 in 6.5x47, and I would like to do the same, convert it to a 223.....is it simply a matter of sourcing a T3 bolt with 223 bolt face and getting a 224 barrel machined to suit?

Tight groups.......same as everyone else who shoots with whatever type of rifle they happen to prefer......

I know what speeds I can get because I've already had one 223 with the above spec. It was built as a Tikka M595 TR, with Trakker aperture sights and an adjustable TR laminate stock.
It now sports a Sightron scope, a Jackson trigger breaking around 400gms, and is fired off a homemade Bigfoot type bipod and butt bag.
With 80grain bullets and RS52 powder, it makes 900-915m/s,(Labradar), and the best group recently on a very calm day at 300yds was 5 shots in 0.29 MOA.

T3 bolt?....now there's an idea.......but it would need machining and proofing.

Personally do what I did, buy an old 223 and re-barrel it. I got an old Remington 700 put a timney Calvin elite trigger and a barreled it with a 28" 1:7 barrel as then you can stabilise the 90grain too. How much RS52 are you loading to get that speed?

1.6gms........and I also bought another M595 243 with a shot out barrel, sold the stock, (retrieving half the total price paid), had it re-barrelled in 6.5x47 and put it in a used GRS stock.
It's a very nice rifle for not too much money.
