Really simple delicious supper even for ‘non cooks”.

This was supper tonight - cooking skills required minimal. Starting with roe fillet from an old buck I shot early season 400m from the house (food miles pretty much 0) and a bowl of olive oil, garlic paste, tomato paste ground chilli flakes, pepper, salt, coriander seeds, mustard seeds and chopped fresh coriander. Spoon the mix over the meat and fry for about 5/6 minutes each side getting a really spicy crust. Rest for 15 minutes.

Don’t worry about the coating looking burnt, it creates a delicious crust.

Served with coleslaw (home made but can buy), tomatos with basil and spring onions, bought garlic mayo and hummus. Along with bought Naan breads. Minimum effort as in the middle of moving house

Was absolutely delicious. Wife (who thinks she doesn’t like venison) asked what it was - I said “spicy fillet”, only when she had said it was delicious twice did I break the news and she had a second helping. I cook a lot but this is really no cooking skills needed and a bit different.

By the way the meat from what was a pretty hairy - ****d buck, meltingly tender.

Looks great! And perfectly cooked 😃 One of my favourite meals is a simply-roasted loin with Basmati rice and a peppercorn sauce. It doesn't need to be fancy to be delicious, that's for sure!

Even better this morning cold - thinly sliced for breakfast. What's left is coming stalking and camping with me tonight....

The rest of the ingredients blew the food miles budget. I'm very impressed it lasted long enough to make it to breakfast. A lovely cut of meat.
