Magtech Primers - Garbage!

Been reloading over twelve years now. This is my fifth calibre to load up for & lucky enough to have only had two hang fires over a lot of rounds!
Primer shortage at present so I snapped up Magtech to work up loads, fine tune then chrono.
Within 65 rounds I’ve had four hang fires (seated fully) & two pierced/blown mid way through on two different loads, remaining up to max ok with no pressure signs on case or primer. I’ll be using this for target & on a new build I’m not having hot gas cutting the tip of my firing pin frequently & randomly so these are getting moved on real cheap & real quick! Garbage.

Rusty Gate, I am using Magtech primers in both my 222 and my 30-06 as it was all that was available. I have fired several hundred of both calibres, without any issues whatsoever. I like them.

nothing wrong with magtech primers as others have said, ive not had a problem using them, infact i tried them in a fantastic load i have for my 22.250, which i use federal l\r, and the grouping was better with magtech than federal , bs

I was shooting with a mate on wednesday who had just loaded 308/n140 target loads with newly acquired Magtech primers.
These were in an AI AX. IIRC about 4 or 5 misfires in about 30 rounds. He went back to some previously loaded ammo with CCI and no problems.
He is a competent reloader.

Got to admit I’ve had 4 magtec misfires from about 200 rounds.
After pulling the bullets my friend unseated 2 of the primers and hit the with a nail and a hammer, wearing protection.
They wouldn’t go bang.

I’m about 700 into 4000 LR in various calibres, no hang fires but 3 or 4 that have failed to go off. Not ideal so will be for target or stalking I am not paying for!

@Rusty Gate what is the batch number?
