Hi all, I am here to get advice, guidance and hopefully meet some like minded individuals and to actually go out stalking. I don't have any stalking or hunting experience, I live in Essex just outside the M25 and looking for all the help you can all offer - what to do? where to go? and what courses to go on? the pre deer stalking or the DSC1 run by the BASC or is something else by someone else better? what to avoid and common newbie mistakes? how and when to apply for my FAC and what equipment I will need starting from nothing? looking forward to talking with you all and getting to know you.

Welcome!
You have come to the right place to get started.
Just remember, there's no such thing as a stupid question. Don't by afraid to ask away.

Welcome from Essex also, best bet first of all is to get out with a guide and try stalking if you haven't tried it yet to make sure you enjoy it before committing to equipment and courses. Dsc1 is worth while also

Hi T.eddie, would you have any suggestion where I should go or who to contact to find a guided stalk? are any in Essex?

I'm not aware of any in Essex, but there's Jim Riley at Deer Game and Vermin Management he's over towards Cambridge, a good guy I also did my dsc1 with him

Or someone on here that's well know, @SussexSteve is a great guide, really knowledgeable and all round nice bloke, and doesn't take too long to get over to Sussex
