BASC and the Angling Trust are hosting rural receptions at the Labour, Liberal Democrat and Conservative Party conferences. BASC has taken out a double-page spread of editorial in the Labour edition of The House – the magazine for MPs – which will be given away free at the Labour Conference.

Please write to your Labour, Conservative or Liberal Democrat MP and ask them to consider attending the BASC and Angling Trust rural reception at their upcoming party conference.

What news regarding the Lead Shot Survey and any hope for a derogation for some calibres?

1) such as .410", 9mm Rimfire and .22LR Rimfire (shot) of any date of manufacture?
2) at the very very least and also for ALL calibre shotguns made before 1955 and if not exempt as in 1) above for any vintage of shotguns chambered for .410" 2 1/2" length cartridges?

Date of first manufacture (and not of any subsequent reproof) as at 2) would be easy to determine by a) the Proof Marks or b) online maker's data or archives as most European guns be they Spanish, French, Belgian can be "aged" by either a) or b).

We are discussing it internally as there will be a lot of comms re transition away from lead coming out soon.
