It's time to think about packing for the trip...

Last night my wife booked (yet another) B&B for the upcoming trip to the Highlands.

So that will make seven nights away, at three different locations.

One B&B on the way up, and the same again on the way down.
Four nights at the venue.
An additional B&B on route home; as duty demands that I drop in on family, but have no wish to overnight with them, and in any event I don't think the rules allow guests to overnight...

Rifle of choice for this trip will be the Sako 75 in .308.

Just start getting my sh*t together...

The rather large (and expensive) range bag, is starting to pay for itself.

Those eagle-eyed amongst you will notice that the @Stuart Mitchell knife (the one that went to Africa) has been selected...

It does seem like an awful faff, for a couple of days dicking about on the Hill doesn't it?

And yet we all do it in some form or another.

Just looking at the forecast for the next week or so, I must remember to pack waterproofs...:-|

I am bound to forget something. I always do.

OK.

Wee bit of a drama.

Just looking for my Deer Stalker...

Cannot seem to lay my hands on it.

On the plus side: during this search I have 'found' two knives in various pockets...yes I was looking in pockets for my hat!

Additionally, just looking at the weather forecast, MrsS62 has just placed an order for a 'spare' set of Seeland Breeks from John Norris - (currently have a sale on) - and they are due to arrive on Wednesday.

Perhaps I should have added a Deer Stalker to the order?

Yup - it looks wet all next week! On Rannoch Moor all that week myself and expecting to get very wet :( Bought a pair of Crispi Highland boots on Friday - hopefully they will be a good fit..............🤞🤞🤞

Mithering too over rifle for the week, but as space isn't really a problem, I'm going to take both .308s and the .270, the latter for LL high seat (Alpex 4k LRF).
Are you allowed to use a NV scope up here without a night licence?

OK.

No. You only buy hats and other tweed items from haggarts of aberfeldy

May I take it after that…. err….. unfortunate incident you downsized your number of knives and gave up the circus job?

That aside do have a lovely time way up north. Circumstances have conspired to prevent my usual return this year but hopefully November is on….

Well now.

This looks like the kind of place after my own heart...and wallet.

Haggarts is closed but you could stop for a coffee.

Aye defo gone. Has the distinction of being the only place in Scotland that refused a Northern Bank £20 note. Mind you it was quite soon after a certain organisation which of course has “put their guns beyond reach” relieved that Bank’s HQ of north of £50,000,000 of their notes…
Not a shop but a fine Aberfeldy restaurant - The Three Lemons, situated just below and on the other side from the JK Rowling refurbished cinema.

Well after nearly two days of searching.

Bastard thing turns up in a stupid little range bag, that I now use to store my Keeper's kit in.

Well at least Haggart's closing is no longer the drama...
