Hi guys. I have Been given a load of hornaday brass in 308 once fired
And having a bit of trouble seating the primers its really hard to get them into the brass . Have I missed something with this make of brass ?

Hornady .308 brass usually has crimped primers. It isn't a ridiculous crimp, certainly not even close to staked primers and shouldn't have broken the pin tbh.
A quick few twists with a cartridge deburring tool should take the edges off and allow primers to seat properly.
