By conventional standards, I find the image quality awful ... the daylight image is laggy and grainy... the thermal is all blobby pixels... the native magnification is too low for the digital camera and way too high for the thermal one... in fact, only the digital NV is up to par (and that's quite a low bar) ...
BUT...
The thermal will pick up heat sources hundreds of metres away, and the daylight camera will mostly tell you what they are, and the range finder will tell you how far away they are, and you can do all these things without taking your hands or your eyes off the target.
Additionally, you save weight and free up pockets, and can review a buddy's shot in the binos before checking the strike site, and, and ....
Moreover, I can't see the point of paying 1,000s more for the higher-end models. The HE25L's imaging may be terrible by conventional standards, but for 99% of practical purposes it is entirely sufficient.
By the way, the part of me that loves good optics hates this fact. It's like saying that one of those horrendous smoothies is better than a fine restaurant meal because you don't waste time eating and the nutritional content is better.
If you want to hunt effectively, I think the Habroks are currently unbeatable, but the satisfaction is all in the efficiency they bring. Don't expect them to enhance your joy in the beauty of nature.
