.410 side by side

Hi all.
Scratched a long time itch and picked up a tidy Yildiz side by side 410 recently. Bargain price I thought, and apart from a couple of tiny dinks to the stock seems almost unused. Recocking the action feels stiff, as there is no weight to the little barrels to assist but Im sure it will wear in some more with use.
Throws a nice pattern with both barrels, 3 inch chambers and steel proof - though I have yet to see any steel 410 for sale. weighs about 5lb I guess, proper little wand!
These are certainly worth a look and aren't a lot of money new.

Just over £300. Seemed fair.
They are £500 or so new, some more.
Mine is fixed choke which is fine for me. Half and full.
Single trigger with barrel selector.

When I started my son at 9 years of age I took him for a couple of lessons so that he didn’t start out with my bad habits, the instructor got him started with the same gun and he was knocking clays out in no time at all.
Shortly after he progressed onto the Yildiz SPZME junior 28ga and never looked back.
Personally I think that for the money they are excellent guns, the wood on his 28 was far superior to that on my Silver Pigeon.

I don’t recall the .410 but his 28ga was quite tight and difficult for a small lad to close after firing. That said, I didn’t consider getting it eased because I didn’t want to ruin it and in no time at all he mastered it anyway.

With hindsight I should have kept hold of that little 28, but I traded it in for the same in 20.

Worked some oil into the cocking bar and it has really made a big improvement. All seemed bone dry which never helps!
Popped over to my nearest permission and knocked two crows out of the sky (never mind the two I missed) had a squizzer out of an oak and as light fell away I managed three rats - spot with thermal first and jobs a good un.
Really taking a shine to this little thing, could do with another inch or two on the LOP, otherwise cant fault it. Maybe I can make up / buy a butt plate spacer?
I got 100 3" 7 1/2 shot carts with the gun, not even finished the first box yet.

You wouldn't spend that much on a rifle though, unless it came with a decent scope, moderator and bipod 🤣
I'm not that that bad - spent 350 on rifle just this week. Came with a picatinny rail which retail at £110 - first thing I've done is take the rail off!! 😣

I have just picked up a 410 sxs made by fair in Italy.

They are fantastic, 100%Italian made and I can't fault anything with it. I looked at a beretta and Wembley Scott but the fair beate them hands down.

I can not wait to get it out!
