Depending on the time of year and the weather:
Tilley T5
Or a quality tweed cap and a tube/scarf thing if the wind is up.

Flat cap when I'm home on the farm.
Tilley TH5 at all other times, including stalking.
(I wear a hat every day, of one sort or another).

Had one of these for 30 years A great cap and not wearing out much at all

As much as I would like to wear something more traditional a Baseball cap is simply the most practical. Especially in autum and winter when I might want to throw a hood over it. The visor will take the hood with it when I turn my head so I‘ve got free unobstructed vision.
But a woolen hat is always handy in winter. Just in case.

I liked the idea of a tilley, untill i gave them my details, the amount of marketing spam was horrendous. I would choose a base ball over other designs but they all come as one size and its too small.
If you buy tilley dont tell them

Well, in my shooting holdall I've got a few hats. There's a flat cap, a beanie (of sorts), A woolly hat that's distinct from the beanie in that it's thicker and warmer and one of those Harkila peaked caps that is Gore-Tex and you can flip the top so it's a nice orange don't-shoot-me colour. What I wear when I get there depends on the weather and a whim. The beanie and woolly hat I bought. The peaked cap and the flat cap were presents, which also occasionally has a bearing on whether I wear them. Can't see them looking pristine so that the wife says "don't you wear that then?"
