Currently, during the early season months, I use a waxed cotton, brimmed hat, it's very useful with a midgie net to stop the little fcuker's from eating me alive! Once the temperatures cool a little, I use a tweed, flat, eight panel cap. Very comfortable, more than adequate for the temperatures we typically deal with. Allows me to use ear defenders easily, folds up and tucks away up a sleeve if going into a hostelry on the way home. Both items made in Ireland, good quality and will see me out, as long as I don't lose them.I need a new hat ...
