Choosing a hat

I need a new hat ...

Currently, during the early season months, I use a waxed cotton, brimmed hat, it's very useful with a midgie net to stop the little fcuker's from eating me alive! Once the temperatures cool a little, I use a tweed, flat, eight panel cap. Very comfortable, more than adequate for the temperatures we typically deal with. Allows me to use ear defenders easily, folds up and tucks away up a sleeve if going into a hostelry on the way home. Both items made in Ireland, good quality and will see me out, as long as I don't lose them.

Wet weather- moleskin baseball cap. Decent peak that keeps rain of my specs. Also warm but stinks when drying out.
Dry / cold - various beanies and bobble hats.

Baseball cap and when it’s cold, but sunny I put a beanie over the baseball cap. If it’s cold and not sunny I just wear the beanie.

It's being used to make hats! Novel idea! Better option than blocking the plughole.

Don't do baseball caps, never have done.... Used to be a flat cap, now more into my deerstalker.
