HikMicro Alpex 4K LRF A50EL

A friend had asked me to take a vid to compare to his Drone Pro 10x hence the 10.5x mag. The Hik is no Drone Pro but he's bought one as it is in his opinion much more versatile.
That is a cracking bit of kit.
I’m old school now with a pulsar C50 (which I’m more than happy with) but that is a different league.
Cheers for posting

The C50 is still a very capable bit of kit, it's light gathering ability is probably on a par with the Hik 4k. I was using a Vulpine Mk3 (which I still have) so my standards were high. Must admit I've been really impressed by what features the Hik offers at the price point.

Ohhh you're a bad influence on me..!! 🤣
Sorry about that😂 If you were in the market for a tube style NV device I honestly believe it's the best of the bunch by some way. Yes at higher mag the image will pixilate but with the right IR it really is very very good up to 13x-14x mag and you will never need any more than that.

Yeah, waiting to see what the cryptic Mr Blackwood pulls lot of his hat, but think I might have to blow the dust off the credit card!!

The alpex is a nice scope, put mine on a 22lr, the weight is considerable, had to get a trigger stick to support it, cracking bit of kit

Be nice if they could drop the weight a good bit. At 1.2 kg it's a lot. 700gram would be much nicer.
If you want a lighter scope then the DNT Zulus is the answer - just over 600g all up including IR
By the time you put a decent IR onto an Alpex 4k it weighs almost three times as much as a Zulus
I said earlier in this thread that the Alpex4k is better at dawn and dusk than the Zulus - and that's true for colour images
When you switch to NV mode with and without IR there's nothing in it.

Cheers

Bruce
