Considering new IR scope with LRF plus mono spotter with LRF - advice sought ?

I need to upgrade and have 2 models in mind for the scope and mono spotter having done the research using on a 243. So everyone's go to - HikMicro Alpex LRF 4K A50EL Digital Day and Night Vision Riflescope and the NocPix Lumi H35R LRF Thermal Monocular spotter. I am wondering if it is really worth having LRF on the spotter as well as the scope ? Also with so many scopes and spotters on the market, does this seem a good reasonably priced setup ? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Personally the less time faffing behind the rifle the better. I went for the A50E as I want things "simple" however to some degree if you have it and want to use it you can.

I don't think it's essential to have lrf on the spotter but can be useful. Most of the better ones have lrf anyway. And you can use it on your non digital scope outings.

Saves time working out if it's even with getting down on the gun. I don't think with thermal it's all that easy to judge distance sometimes.

Seems like a very solid setup to me.

Thankyou for the replies, Time saving swapping from spotter to gun can sometimes make the difference between success and failure, so I agree with the time saving aspect. At this level of equipment quality it seems to down to personal preference as often is.

Spot on...there are so many reviews and so many opinions its a minefield. I have an old Pulsar XQ38F spotter and the Alpex A50E and it does everything I need 👍

Are you shooting at night or in the day with this setup?

Only thing I would say, per you other thread, is the scope is potentially quite big for a 22rf. Depends on the gun of course.

Day and night - .22 for rabbits and yes a bit large on .22 but get used to it.

I have lrf on my spotter, I use it all the time.
The lrf on the rifle is a nice to have, but not needed all the time, remember, you should not be pointing the rifle at anything unless you are planning to take a shot, so it is far better in general to have lrf on the spotter.
Imho of course.
Agreed, swinging a rifle around all over the place not ideal. If you know the ground, fair enough. So I am thinking LRF on both so never without.

The scope lrf/ballistics will probably be more useful on the 22lr if you intend to use it.

The ballistic calc is really useful on rim fires.

Thankyou. Yes the .22 is old school these days it seems due to its ballistic characteristics ! ( so good point about the B. calc being usefull ) The Nokpix H35r is on now it's way thanks to Black Friday !

I use a scope (zulus) with a ballistic calc. Honestly it's amazing, especially at night.

243 is obviously pretty flat and you won't be shooting rats with it. 😀

The more review I see - the more I think I have made the right purchase. Still undecided on the HikMicro Alpex LRF 4K A50EL Digital Day and Night Vision Riflescope as there is so much choice on the market. I am sure subscribers will give me their thoughts / preferences when they read these posts.

There's a lot of good gear about and more in the pipe line I'm sure.

I have the zulus v1 and I really like it but I don't have any experience with the alpex so I couldn't comment on it.

Don't forgot to buy a torch and mount for the alpex if you decide to get one.

I am a fan of the Alpex (I have the A50E) .... not light but frankly Im not worried about a heavy set up as I dont get on with light rifles. Will be interesting to see what the Nocpix D70 is like but ultimately the Digital scopes in this price bracket are all likely to be much of a muchness 👍

I have the Black Sun Dark Engine and that does me out to ranges I am happy to shoot at (max 300 yards).
